Educational Programs
  Educational Programs for Young People are a major component of the CORE Ensemble's artistic mission. These programs allow our artists to have a significant interaction with diverse constituencies, creating a friendly, accessible atmosphere in assembly programs as well as in smaller group settings.

  PROGRAMS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

  50-minute excerpt versions of our music theatre pieces are available for school programs.  
     
  Of Ebony Embers-Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance with actor Akin Babatunde.
Educational goals are:
  1. to create an awareness of the impact of race and racism on both the individual and society;
  2. to help students develop respect and understanding of other people and cultures;
  3. to teach audiences and students about an important period in American history.
 
     
  Myths of the Subtropics with actor Akin Babatunde.
Educational goals are:
  1. to educate and entertain schoolchildren about Florida folklore and history, and
  2. to instill in young audiences an appreciation for Florida’s diverse populations.
 
     
  Study Guides and pre- and post-performance curriculum materials are available for all three programs.
